MIND VOLUNTEERS UGANDA.

Mind Uganda is a voluntary non-profit organization in Uganda purposely set up to help orphans, vulnerable people and women. The organization was founded in 2007 by Mr.BIRYOMURIWE GAD who initiated the idea and introduced it to MS. BIRUNGI JEMIMAH and other seven members to join him.

Mind Uganda are located in kawmpe 4km Bombo Road from Kampala city- Uganda, Runs a school in Kawempe division 4kms from Kampala with over 120 orphans and vulunrable needy children, besides an orphanage school in kawempe the organisation sponsors orphans in other different schools in Uganda.

Orphanage in Uganda is a serious issue caused by majory death. Death in Uganda is caused by serious diseases like HIV/AIDS, cancer, tuberculosis, malaria. Other epidemics like, cholera, Ebola among other inevitable causes like natural death and accidents and to a certain extent wars and poverty that leaves the children of the deceased into the hands of poor relatives, guardians and others no where to stay.

The above deaths therefore, have caused a lot of over dependency, economic, social and political pressure on the Ugandan soil. This kind of pressure is mainly exerted on family members who volunteer to keep with orphans and fail at the end to provide basic necessities for their survival that resort to abandoning them for they cannot contend the pressure and such children become victims in the community.

As a result of the above pressure, relatives and guardians of the orphans fail to raise funds for their education, medical, clothes, proper accommodation, transport and feeding which causes malnutrition, stunted growth and death of the orphans and the orphans who survive death, move onto streets of Kampala and other urban centers and towns in Uganda, become street kids and beggars that turns them into public nu sense, leads to high political insecurity with increase in criminality.

The above also; have left a very large group of Uganda’s young children and other middle aged people with oozing poverty, starvation and secondary death. Besides that, these orphans have become victims of high crime rate, frustration, destitutes, street beggars, drug trafficking and addiction, public nu sense, helpless and hopeless people to their lives, families, country Uganda and the world at large.

The orphans in Uganda therefore, need things like; education, shelters, accommodation, feeding, medical, transport, canselling, guidance and general care. Without the above basic needs such people increasingly become a problem to the nation not because it’s how their destiny was designed by God, but because their potential is not well built and molded into the useful status of utility. Humans, being the greatest resource in the universe ever to be utilized, this resource in Uganda is partly neglected on this cause.

Mind Uganda therefore, is a platform for the orphans and other disadvantaged young children and middle aged group, vulnerable people and women of Ugandans that are left without care, help, voice and advocacy. The founder’s aim was and is to see how to up bring, uplift and mold up the potentials of the neglected resource in terms of human species.

The founder’s mission was and is to create hope and faith into the above disgruntled group of Ugandans that look neglected with no helper and care taker. The founders therefore; stand in as a voice for the victims of the circumstance. They on this note, stand in to solicit funds from any volunteer world wide that, out  of sympathy, tender heart, love, care, and humility these children a merciful hand from fellow human beings be extended to them through providing quality education, good feeding, medical care, shelter, accommodation and transport to and from school.

This can be done through your golden sacrifice of 1 dollar in your pocket every day. To assure you 1 dollar provides one orphan with the above service. Sponsor a child and save the future, save a dollar, save life, donate a dollar and rescue the soul.

Any neglect to the orphans is a dangerous dis-service to the community and to God the creator. Mind volunteers Uganda therefore, invites all international volunteers to join and take up the fortune of volunteering in Uganda.

We offer high quality education to shape our children in order to fit in the highly competitive globe. We ensure that we produce an all round person, that can stand with an independent mind for proper decision making and self reliance. We mold and shape our children with high level of discipline, respect and love for one another,

 NOTE:

Although there is some progress, the HIV/AIDS epidemic is still pervasive throughout Uganda. The seemingly unstoppable spread of the fatal disease lies mainly as a result of the social values within the African culture. For example, sexual issues are simply not discussed, thus education on those issues tends to be muted as well. At times, African adults even shun children born with the disease, children who have been given an automatic death sentence.

Organizations trying to educate the population on prevention of the disease encounter cultural bias as well. For instance, although aid organizations distribute condoms, it is difficult to educate males on the need for and proper use of this protection since to others. Additionally, birth control or sexual protection is completely alien to most Africans, and moreover, religious practices and tradition usually do not allow for such provisions since to other African settings they are like taboos.

To make matters more frustrating and seemingly impossible at times, because so much of Africa is rural, there is a physical barrier to reaching many of the inhabitants. And, even if aid organizations are able to reach those indigenous people, language barriers present yet another hurdle. Perhaps the most exasperating of all obstacles that so many off the aid organizations encounter is that although many Africans are infected with HIV or AIDS, the population is not educated in understanding the function of the disease nor how to identify or treat it.

While many non-governmental organizations and non-profit aid organizations focus on treating those infected with HIV/AIDS and educating the rest of the population on how to prevent its spread, others focus on the survivors of those who have died because of disease or some other tragedy. An example of an organization responding to this effort is Mind Uganda.
